Yi-li Chin Ward was invited to the Art in Embassies Program (AIEP)

Art in Embassies

Dear Ms. Chen,

Hello. I realize this email will seem out of the blue. Still, I'm contacting you to see if you would participate in the Art in Embassies exhibition I'm curating for the public rooms of the Director of the American Institute of Taiwan, William Stanton's residence in Taipei. Because Director Stanton would like to emphasize the ties between Taiwan and the US and is enthusiastic about your work, he would be honored to include you.

By way of background, the Art in Embassies Program (AIEP) has put together small loan exhibitions of works by U.S. artists and permanent residents as a vital form of cultural diplomacy since 1963. We pay for all loan-related expenses, including pick-up, crating, shipping, and insurance. An illustrated companion catalog accompanies each show. The loan period is 2-1/2 to 3 years to coincide with the ambassador's tour of duty.

I have attached a couple of documents as an additional reference. Many thanks for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you either way.

All the best,

Sarah, Curator
Art in Embassies Program
U.S. Department of State
